This year´s conference „Our safety is not a matter of course“ took place in the light of the ongoing conflict in Ukraine and due to this conflict, the traditional meeting of politicians of all parliamentary parties and security experts was exceptional. The opening speech was made by the Minister of the Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavský and after his speech, the Director of the Department of Foreign Affairs of the Office of the President of the Czech Republic Rudolf Jindrák read the greetings from the Czech President Miloš Zeman. The key speech was given by the Prime Minister of the Czech Republic Petr Fiala.
The whole conference was divided into five panel discussions. Speakers at the conference included for example the Minister of Defence of the Czech Republic Jana Černochová, Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic Aleš Opata and Executive Director of the European Defence Agency Jiří Šedivý, former Minister of Defence and Ambassador of the Czech Republic to NATO.
"We are honoured that we were able to support such an important event from the position of general partners, the importance of which is underlined by the unprecedented aggression of Russia on the territory of the sovereign state of Ukraine. The importance of this conference was perceived by security experts and part of the public even in peacetime. Today, when we are witnessing a war conflict on the territory of Europe, it is necessary to realize that our security is really not a matter of course and it is necessary to constantly strive to ensure it," said Andrej Čírtek, spokesman of the CSG holding and Tatra Trucks.
